COVID-19 and Personal Finances

January 2020, the United States of America saw its' first SARS Co-Var 2 cases in Washington State. There were 15 COVID-19 infections in the Washington State nursing home and no one imagined that we would experience this type of decline in the economy.

By March, many states implemented "shelter-in-place orders" which effectively killed the economy and many Americans lost their jobs, insurance, and income. On April 22, 2020 unemployment was over 25%!

Although the CARES ACT provided a stimulus payment to many middle-to-lower income households, the longer the people stayed at home, the tougher it became to put food on the table and pay for ordinary expenses like rent, car notes, and utilities.
